Matchbox Studies

An in-progress collection of matchbox illustrations. These small studies of visual metaphors, color palettes, and dynamic compositions find their foundations in the illustrative history of vintage matchboxes. Various digital techniques are meant to replicate layered styles of printing—focusing on qualities like texture, registration shifts, and blemishes that ground the illustrations.
